OTC Hearing Aids

Many over-the-counter hearing aids are coming onto the market as seen on TV and online. These aids can help people with mild to moderate hearing loss; those with worse hearing loss than mild to moderate levels will not be adequately helped by OTC options.

Generally, users of OTC hearing aids need to have at least a fair savviness for technology. Many of these aids use apps for hearing tests, adjusting volume levels, telehealth visits and instructions on how to use the aids. If a person finds it bothersome to work with technology on their own, then OTC aids may not be the best fit.

Like a first set of "reader" glasses, OTC hearing aids can be helpful to many. When more help is needed, please reach out to us for a licensed professional who makes convenient house calls and takes the time to answer all your questions so you can feel comfortable and hear your best...and many times at a comparable cost to some OTC options!
